WHY MY COMPUTER IS RUNNING SLOW?

All the computer users have sometimes faced frustration because of the slow PC. It happens to everyone at least once in life and the users can’t find a reason of it. For the slow speed of a computer, there can many reasons: 

1. Computer or processor is overheating

Also check whether or not the computer is overheating. Excessive heating can cause the PC to work slowly, because most processors automatically reduce the speed of the processor to help compensate for the heat related issues. The overheating can also be a result dust and dirt that is not letting the air pass in the PC and causing it to overheat.  Therefore, make sure your computer case is clean and fans are not obstructed.

2. Memory upgrade

If your computer is two years (or more) old, then the memory should be upgraded. It is recommended that the computers should have a minimum of 1GB of memory (RAM) for 32-bit system and 2GB for a 64-bit system. By having enough memory for programs to run within memory, your computer will not need to swap information stored within memory to the swap file.

3. Temporary files

As so many programs and files are opened on a PC regularly, it creates temporary files that keep on increasing and causing the PC to work slowly. Deleting these temp files can help improve computer performance. You can also delete the temporary files using tools, or take online technical support.

4. Internet is running slow

when your computer is running as it should, then problem may be in the wireless connection. Too many devices may be connected to the Wi-Fi causing the internet to work slowly. Therefore, you should also make sure your wireless network is secure so someone else isn’t using your Internet bandwidth.

5. Computer infected by a malware

Malware are a very big issue for computers. Along with slowing down the speed of your computer, they can also steal the PC data or hack it to use it for malicious purpose.  Therefore it is always recommended to take antivirus support if the computer is infected with a malware.

6. Too many programs are running at the same time

Users regularly download applications, utilities, and other files that run in the background. The more applications run in the background, the slower PC will perform.

Therefore, always avoid downloading unnecessary apps, web browser plug-ins, more than one anti-malware program, or applications that claim to “speed up” your internet or your computer.
