Intel Announces New Core X-Series CPUs
Intel announced its new Core X lineup of CPUs at the Computex 2017 in Taipei offering even more powerful versions of its existing Core i5 and Core i7 models, along with a new, top-of-the-line Core i9 for those who want more power. The Core X platform is being targeted for customers like gamer and content creators and need to do multiple tasks.
What they said
Gregory Bryant, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Client Computing Group at Intel Corporation said “The Intel Core X-series processor family introduces a series of firsts that reflect the extreme performance we are delivering. This family includes Intel’s first teraflop desktop CPUs, a prime example of just how much raw compute these processors can handle.”
About the Core i9-7900X, which has 10 cores and 20 threads with HT. It has 3.3GHz base clock speed, 4.3GHz Turbo Boost 2.0 clock speed and 4.5GHz Turbo Boost 3.0 clock speed.
Gregory Bryant added "This is by far the most extreme desktop processor ever introduced."
How Much It Cost
The Intel Core i9-7900X 10-core processor will cost for $999, the high-end Intel Core i9-7980XE 18-core extreme edition will cost $1,999. Other Core i9 processors that include the 12, 14, and 16 core variants will cost $1,119, $1,399, and $1,699 respectively.
