How to free up storage space on your PC after Windows 10 Creators Update installation.
If you are a PC user with Windows 10, the chances are that you have already upgraded to the Creators Update. Did you know that upgrading to a new version of Windows will actually forces the system to store data of previous installations. If rollback is needed at any point of time during upgrading or in future that data can be used. Thankfully, we can claim that space back.
It makes sense that Microsoft would have used this space for the rollback process if something went wrong with the update. However, Once the Creators Update is complete, there should be no reason to rollback to a previous version, So it's the time to get the space back for own use.
Important: Please note that deleting these files will not let you roll back to the older version of Window. So, be sure that the new version of Windows works fine.
Free Up To 20GB Space After Windows 10 Creators Update
Step 1 - Open This PC/My Computer.
Step 2 - Right Click on your Windows installation drive (For example, C in my case).
Step 3 - Click Properties.
Step 4 - Click Disk Cleanup.
Step 5 - In the Disk Cleanup window, click Clean up system files.
Step 6 - Make the sure the Previous Windows Installations(s) check box is ticked. Also, tick all the check boxes for the items you want to clean.
When the system is finished deleting the temporary files, and all necessary instances of old versions of Windows, you should be able to check how much storage space you have gained at the end of this process.
You can free up as much as 20 GB of space on your hard drive.
